Russell (Thomas Duplessie), an up-and-coming drag artiste on the run from his boyfriend and a stressful city life, escapes to the country and falls straight into the arms of Margaret, his aging grandmother (Cloris Leachman in one of her final roles, delivering a raw, emotional depiction of a matriarch in her declining years). As Margaret fights to retain her independence and avoid being put in a home, Russell decides to take to the stage once more, using a local bar to showcase his glittering, glamorous performances, whereupon sparks fly with the hot bartender. A hit on the festival circuit, this humorous and heart-tugging dramedy about reconnecting to your dreams and your roots is a drag queen journey with heart.
