This documentary examines the too-short lives of Gemmel “Juelz” Moore and Timothy “Tim” Dean, two gay Black men, who both died of a meth overdose at the now-infamous West Hollywood apartment of Ed Buck, a gay white man. Gemmel’s and Tim’s parallel walks of life—memories, correspondence, and things they did and didn’t share with each other are seen through the eyes of their extended families in this passionate examination of racism, murder, and complicity in the gay community.
