KEYBOARD FANTASIES: THE BEVERLY GLENN-COPELAND STORY
Posy Dixon; 2019; United Kingdom; 63 min.
The music of Beverly Glenn-Copeland was always ahead of its time. That’s why it comes as no surprise that it took more than three decades for his 1986 album, a collection of soul-searching and ethereal electronic melodies, to find the success and recognition it deserved. This emotional and inspiring documentary follows the unexpected journey of the 74-year-old Black trans musician as he embarks on tour around the world to connect with his audience and rediscover the purpose of his life and his career. Winner of the Audience Favorite at Hot Docs and a special mention at Outfest: Los Angeles LGBTQ+ Film Festival.
