Milo (Molly Bernard, Younger), a bit rudderless and feeling left behind by both her roommate and pregnant best friend, meets Roger (Patrick Breen, A Series of Unfortunate Events), a fiftysomething drag performer who badly wants a child. She impulsively offers to become Roger’s surrogate; although he’s hesitant at first, he reluctantly agrees. As Milo becomes attached to Roger, she leverages the pregnancy as a means of staying embedded in his life—and he starts to push back. This well-acted, seriocomic drama is an engaging take on surrogacy, drawing boundaries, and finding meaning in life.
