These chilling short films will turn up the heat just enough to put your heart in a frenzy. If you feel the need to scream, just make sure your mic is muted…or not…it’ll probably only heighten the mood.

Moonyeka (they/them/Angel/Goddexx) is a nonbinary Filipinx femme interdisciplinary artist with a specialty in dance and movement-based storytelling. Moonyeka is one of Velocity Dance Center’s 2022 Creative Residents, and they will be diving into a research process centering QT + POC show g!rl histories, performance intelligences of working girls, and so much more. Moonyeka’s dance and movement foundations include freestyle forms such as Popping, Tutting, and Animation, while also being informed by modern dance, improvisational methods, and sensual movement practices imbued with QT Filipinx greatness.
Pre covid-19, Moonyeka directed WHAT’S POPPIN’ LADIEZ?!, LIL BROWN GIRLS CLUB (a movement based mentorship program for young g*rls of color), and organized (e)merge: a movement based healing intensive for dance communities and beyond in September 2019.
Amongst many projects and collaborations, Moonyeka is also one of the songstrexx’s and lyricists of The Gender Tender Experiment led by Fox Whitney.
