The Dilemma of Desire

This empowering, gleefully eye-opening documentary sets out to explore what it means for women to find their voice and the courage to own their sexuality. Peabody-winning director Maria Finitzo follows four outspoken and compelling characters—conceptual artist Sophia Wallace, neuroscientist Dr. Stacey Dutton, psychologist Dr. Lisa Diamond, and industrial designer Ti Chang—who are shattering the myths and lies women have been taught about their desire and bodies and changing our culture’s “cliteracy.” THE DILEMMA OF DESIRE vibrantly covers the gamut of science, education, art, activism, sex work, comedy, queerness, and the clash between gender politics and the imperatives of female sexual desire.
