Local Sightings 2026 kicks off with the debut feature film from Aberdeen, WA’s own Mia Moore Marchant: Again Again!

If you thought sci-fi couldn’t be romantic, Mia Moore is here to prove you wrong. The time loop is an oft-trotted out device in film—but few films have asked, what actually happens after the time loop ends? And perhaps most importantly, what happens to someone who survives the trauma of an impossible experience? Moore turns the genre trope into an intimate exploration of human psychology, womanhood, transness, and queer love. Aggie (Moore) wakes up one day to discover that she’s finally made it to tomorrow, after 10 years stuck reliving the same day over and over again. And still by her side after all that time is sometimes lover, sometimes friend, Tess (Aria Taylor), whose messy, transformative relationship with Aggie is tenderly brought to life by Moore. Steeped in its Aberdeen location, AGAIN AGAIN is a distinctly Washingtonian film, with gloomy beaches, record stores, pot smoke, and sapphic tumult galore, alternating between moody black and white and color-soaked neon blues and reds. Moore’s debut feature marks the arrival of a singular new voice in American filmmaking.
