Billie (Lisa Cordileone) is done putting up with her pointless job and sadistic boss (Alexandra Billings, Transparent). After telling everyone off, she breaks the news to her fiancée Gayle (Natasha Negovanlis), but after meeting a ragtag group of women who strike upon the idea of creating an app for freelancers like themselves, Billie lies to her about her “new job” to buy time until her start-up launches. But will the business plan and financial backers come together in time to save their wedding day? Written by, directed by, and starring a quick-witted cast, this fast-paced romantic comedy gives visibility to women in science and technology. And, as the tagline of the film says, call “Freelancers Anonymous, because your day job sucks ass.”
