USA | 2019 | 83 minutes | Mark Blane & Ben Mankoff | In English without subtitles
In this quirky coming-of-age comedy, Mark (Mark Blane, the film’s co-director), a painfully awkward gay illustrator, makes his way to New York City from his small-town life in Indiana with mom (Patricia Richardson, Home Improvement). Faced with the harsh realities of trying to survive in the big city with no money and few skills, Mark becomes a part-time “manny” for an affluent family in Brooklyn. His journey of self-discovery and creativity begins with the help of Milo (the six-year-old he babysits), Mark’s imaginary leather daddy, and an LSD-laced cupcake.
