2010 Seattle Lesbian & Gay Film Festival Submission Guidelines

October 15 -24

The Seattle Lesbian & Gay Film Festival is the largest LGBT arts event in the Pacific Northwest with over 10,000 attendees. Features and short films selected for our 15th annual festival are eligible for audience awards and juried cash prizes, and will receive plenty of attention from Seattle’s famously film-loving community.

AWARDS
The competition jury will select films from four categories to receive cash awards: Best Feature Film, Best Documentary Film, Most Innovative Short Film, and Best Short Film. Audience awards voted on by our 10,000 attendees will be given for Favorite Narrative Feature, Favorite Documentary Feature, Favorite Gay Short Film, Favorite Lesbian Short Film, and Favorite Local Film

FESTIVAL EXHIBITION FORMATS
Preferred – 35mm, BetaSP, or DigiBeta
(other possible formats – 16mm, DVD)

ENTRY DEADLINES
Early – Entry postmarked by May 15, 2010 ($10 fee)
Final – Entry postmarked no later than June 15, 2010 ($20 fee)

HOW TO ENTER
To enter your work for consideration, please carefully follow the steps detailed below.

  1. Please complete the on-line entry form.
  2. Print out a backup copy and mail it with your non-returnable DVD screener (NTSC or PAL). Due to the large number of entries, we cannot return preview screeners. Accepted titles will be kept in our archives.
  3. DVD screener must have Film Title, Running Time and Contact Info printed on it.
  4. All entry forms and DVD screeners must be postmarked by June 15, 2010. If you are submitting your work before or on May 15, 2010 the entry fee is $10. If you are submitting your work between May 15 and June 15, 2010 the entry fee is $20. (You can pay by the Paypal link, or send a check made out to Three Dollar Bill Cinema)
  5. Email confirmation will automatically be sent to confirm receipt of your entry.
  6. If your work is accepted, you will be notified by September 10, 2010. Receipt of your exhibition tape or print is required by October 8, 2010. We will return your exhibition tape or print (if not being forwarded to another destination) by November 15, 2010.
  7. Shipment of exhibition materials to the festival must be paid by the applicant. Return shipment of exhibition materials will be paid by the festival. Any additional fees associated with shipping must be paid by the recipient. Three Dollar Bill Cinema accepts no responsibility for loss or damage of entries during shipment to or from the festival.
  8. Once a film is submitted, it may not be withdrawn.
