ASL INTERPRETING PRIOR TO SCREENING
Before his death, bisexual painter Jean-Baptiste requests burial in the distant city of Limoges. When his family and friends protest, he declares, "Those who love me can take the train". The film begins with such a journey. The characters who populated Jean-Baptiste's life - pretty boys and distinguished men, lovers' lovers and ex-lovers, old friends and casual acquaintances - all on the train from Paris to Limoges, navigate the chaos of love, sex, fidelity, grief, and loneliness. In spite of the sadness of the occasion, this train ride is a flirtatious, funny, and marvelous adventure for everyone involved, and an important journey toward illumination. An eclectic soundtrack that includes Nina Simone, PJ HARVEY, and Gustav Mahler accompanies the film. Those who love life will take the train to see this compelling new film from acclaimed director Patrice Chereau.
