as the founders of the modern lesbian civil rights movement, Del
Martin and Phyllis Lyon launched the first public organization for
lesbians, the Daughters of Bilitis, in 1955. NO SECRET ANYMORE chronicles
the lives of these two remarkable women who have been partners in
loveand political strugglefor 50 years. Narrated by
comedian Kate Clinton, director Joan E. Birens polished documentary
entertains as it educates. Featuring great interviews with Phyllis,
Del, and many others including Ginny Apuzzo, Charlotte Bunch, Barbara
Gittings, Barbara Grier, Joan Nestle, and Urvashi Vaid, this herstory
lesson is a warm and inspiring tale.
Screening
with HUBBY-WIFEY, an artistic tribute to Gertrude Stein and Alice
B. Toklas.
