Families: whether you’re ready to meet them halfway, or run away screaming, you just can’t escape ‘em. Some we choose, some we lose, and some just turn out to be not quite what we imagined. When a man’s younger brother comes home injured, the “maternal” side of his partner comes out in MOTHER’S DAY. A lesbian and her father go fishing in DADDY-O, while a special delivery of BREADCRUMBS brings an immigrant and his father closer. An accidental discovery brings the tension to a head IN ANY HOUSE, and long-simmering feelings come to a boil in STAND BY. Infant Teo is instructed in the finer points of life, Berkeley-style, in TEACHING TEO. TV dinners and Lawrence Welk recreate SATURDAY NIGHTS IN THE ‘70s, and when two single moms set up a PLAY DATE, is it just for the kids?
