GHOSTLIGHT
Cinerama Theatre

5:30pm

Christopher Herrmann has gone to extraordinary lengths to bring to fruition this tribute to Martha Graham, the legendary performance artist, dancer, choreographer, and director. Three years ago, Herrmann, Graham’s biographer, friend, and confidant, went to a club in New York City, and there on stage was Martha—her voice, her face, her words…in the form of a six-foot-four-inch drag queen. Thus Herrmann found the central character for GHOSTLIGHT, which follows “Martha Graham” as she creates her final performance, Phaedra. With an incredible cast including Ann Magnuson, Isaac Mizrahi, Mark Morris, and Deborah Harry, this unique film is a tribute to Ms. Graham’s philosophy, artistry, and genius. Much like the fertile imagination of the choreographer herself, GHOSTLIGHT meanders here, there, and everywhere at once—yet is ultimately magically cohesive.
