Travel back in time with HAROLD’S HOME MOVIES to 1940s San Francisco, 1950s garden parties, and 1970s pride parades. For seven decades, Harold “Hal” O’Neal has made short films documenting the lives of his friends as well as the changing world around him. We’re honored to welcome Hal and his partner of 50 years, George, as we present a selection of these amazing and insightful works from O’Neal’s personal archives. This sold-out hit of the San Francisco Lesbian and Gay Film Festival is literally a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

This summer, Seattle experienced THE COCKETTES, a documentary film featuring San Francisco’s notorious theatrical troupe of the psychedelic ‘60s. We are proud to contribute to the Cockettes’ comeback with two groundbreaking archival films that influenced a queer generation and preserved a moment of Cockettes’ history.

TRICIA’S WEDDING and ELEVATOR GIRLS INcaught with my hands in the jar again BONDAGE will entertain, shock, and delight you with their hilarious wit and outrageous shenanigans. COCKETTES’ codirector David Weissman returns to Seattle to host this special event, along with honored guest, TRICIA’S WEDDING director, Sebastian.

Join us for a lively conversation with a select panel of this year’s festival filmmakers as we explore the pitfalls and rewards of lesbian cinema. From writing the story and selling the script, to securing funding and distribution, THE GREATEST STORIES NEVER TOLD: QUEER WOMEN FILMMAKERS TALK ABOUT THEIR WORK will examine the challenges facing queer women trying to get their stories on screen.

ABSOLUT NIGHT OUT: Sunday, October 20 7:30pm, Cinerama Theatre
TIPPING THE VELVET With Special Guest Sarah Waters WeÌre proud to present the North American Premiere of the British Broadcasting CompanyÌs production of Sarah WatersÌ award-winning novel. Enter the underground world of fin-de-siecle London: a world of male impersonators, cabaret singers, radical feminists, and powerful women who keep sex slaves at their beck and call. Nan, a village girl, follows the gorgeous and seductive Kitty to the big city, after falling for her gender-bending performance in a traveling music hall show. A whole new world opens up for Nan as her ability to pass as a pretty boy garners her the attentions not only of London gentlemen, but of a gorgeous and powerful society woman who sees right through her disguise Û and wants her all the more because of it. Introducing Rachael Stirling (Diana RiggÌs daughter) in a star-making performance as Nan, TIPPING THE VELVET shows you a side of Victorian England youÌve never seen on screen before.

Absolut Vodka, the BBC, and Sally Head Productions have made this benefit screening possible - we look to you to make it a success! No tickets will be sold for this program - instead weÌll be requesting donations at the event. This stunning production represents the best in queer film today Û please show us how much this kind of programming is worth to you!
